This paper investigates the impact of the abrupt and generalized confinement imposed by the spread of COVID-19 on family cohesion. Therefore, a questionnaire with a 7-item scale was designed. The objective is to describe and explain the variation of family cohesion in comparison with the pre-confinement state. Using the MCA, variables reflecting levels of family confinement density were examined in relation to the levels of family cohesion. A graph representing the relationships among all variables was analyzed. This revealed the social contexts of families that showed improved cohesion, stable cohesion and decreased cohesion.
